OPEN MEETING – CLIMATE CHANGE the Impact on Architecture and Historic Buildings

The Salisbury Civic Society OPEN MEETING this year will discuss the subject of CLIMATE CHANGE and its Impact on Architecture and Historic Buildings.  The meeting is co-sponsored by the RIBA, featuring two speakers: the architect Duncan Baker Brown and from the National Trust Charles Bain Smith, Senior Buildings Conservation Manager.

Duncan Baker Brown is an architect, academic, environmental activist and author of ‘The Re-Use Atlas: a designer’s guide towards a circular economy’ published by RIBA.  He has researched and taught around issues of sustainable development and closed-looped systems for more than 25 years.

Charles Bain Smith is a Royal Institute of British Architect’s accredited Specialist Conservation Architect at National Trust (England, Wales and Northern Ireland) where he looks after property in the London and Southeast Region as well as advising on architectural conservation across the region.

The meeting will take place at The Methodist Church, St Edmund’s Church Street SP1 1EF on Wednesday 8 November 2023

The talks start  at 6.30pm,  (doors open at 6.00pm)  and will last for about 60 minutes and there will be plenty of time for questions and debate.

There is no charge for this meeting.  Advance booking is not required and everyone is welcome.
